Brunch Goals: Epistrophy NYC

On a cold brisk morning in NYC, I found myself craving brunch. So after searching yelp and instagram I came across this place called Epistrophy. I expected it to be busy upon arrival but it was very quite and cozy feeling. There was only about two other parties in the restaurant when we arrived, we had the pick of almost all of the tables, so we got to sit by the window looking out onto the street.

Typically I start my day with coffee so I ordered an espresso which wasn't the best I've ever had but did the job on the front of avoiding getting a headache. We ordered a bunch of things off of the menu and everything was pretty good.

We got the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes, which were. very good, the lemon flavor was light and refreshing in contrast to the dense texture of the pancakes. These were not fluffy so if thats what you look for in a pancake I wouldn't recommend these. Another sweet addition that we got was a croissant, pretty hard to mess up a croissant, it was delicious!

On the savory side we ordered the zucchini fritters, this was very interesting, it consisted of a zucchini patty with a sunny side egg on top and a honey yogurt sauce on the side. If I had to pick between the two I would choose the pancakes for sure!

Overall I would reccomend this place for a quick brunch the service was quick and attentive and the food came out in a decent amount of time. Plus the food came out in a nice presentable way for photos and the location itself (the window table) caters to taking nice photos if thats what you are there for.
