Magnolia Downtown Dallas Hotel: Girls Weekend

Whenever you travel to a new city I always expect it to be drastically different from other cities I've traveled to. On the drive from the airport to the city I noticed how everything was so spread out, there were no mountains hugging the neighborhoods and the houses just looked so majestic and large. Once I saw the gleaming and erect buildings in the distance the excitement of the girls weekend set in! The refreshing crisp air inside of the Downtown Magnolia Hotel was a very welcoming feeling after spending just seconds outside hopping from the car and walking inside. It didn't take me long to notice the history that was in this building!

After a flight and waiting around in the heat it was such a relief to get to the room for a mid day nap! The room itself was very spacious and open perfect for the girls weekend.

We were staying in a double suite. I have never stayed in a hotel that has the rooms as individual or the option to be opened up with a jack and jill style door! Having the extra space and beds was perfect for my sister, my mom and myself. When I look for a hotel I often look for places that have at least a kitchenette or some type of cooking space so I can reheat leftovers or sometimes even cook a little something. I was super surprised that our room had a full kitchen, a stove, microwave, oven refrigerator and everything you might need if you wanted to cook! This was awesome because one of the nights during our stay we chose to cook after running to the Whole Foods!

I enjoyed a cup of coffee every morning while getting ready. There was also a coffeeshop adjacent to the lobby, the front desk staff gave me a card for the coffeeshop too which was awesome. It is always an added bonus to have a shop that serves great espresso just a brisk ride down the elevator.

The lobby had the most beautiful details in it. The pegasus seen in the lobby is just one part of the history behind the hotel. The pegasus used to be the logo for the Magnolia Petroleum Company, which used to be headquartered where the hotel stands now. The pegasus can be seen in details throughout the building, on things like the elevator doors and such.

One of my favorite spots in the hotel was by the elevators, the ceiling had so much detail that it was hard not to take a photo every time we walked through.

When we went to the bar the first night we saw this nice sitting area. I loved being able to get out of my room and enjoy a different atmosphere when I wanted to focus on work for a little bit.

We enjoyed some drinks during the happy hour. The bar was full but the rest of the room was open so we picked a table by the window. The staff were super attentive and made sure we got everything we needed. We loved being able to head downstairs and grab a drink before heading off to dinner!

The hotel was a short walk from main street. This was great because we only had to walk a couple of blocks in the sweltering heat to get to a variety of shopping, landmarks and restaurants!

After walking around Main Street for a bit we headed back to the hotel. I really loved the location of the Magnolia Downtown Dallas Hotel, it seemed to be extremely centrally located and close to a lot of shopping centers as well.

It was a quick weekend. I felt like I was able to see a lot of Dallas in a short period of time though, with the hotel being centrally located and close to all of the things we wanted to do it made it easy to go out and come back multiple times throughout the day! Especially since the shopping in Dallas was so good we had to drop off our bags throughout the day.

Thank you to Magnolia Hotels for partnering with us for our girls weekend in Dallas!
